Prepare Oatmeal
- Bring the water or milk to a light boil in a saucepan.
- Add the rolled oats and stir.
- Reduce the heat and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and creamy.
- Stir in the cinnamon, sweetener, and a pinch of salt.
Prepare Apples
- In a separate pan, heat butter or coconut oil over medium heat.
- Add the diced apples, cinnamon, maple syrup, and a splash of water.
- Cook until the apples are tender and lightly caramelized.
Serve
- Spoon the oatmeal into a bowl and top with the warm cinnamon apples.
- Add desired toppings and serve warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. To reheat, add a splash of water or milk in a saucepan and warm while stirring until the desired consistency is reached.
