Ingredients
  

For the Lentil Chips
  • 1 cup dry red lentils Rinse thoroughly before use
  • 1.5 cups water (for soaking) For soaking the lentils
  • Salt to taste Adjust according to preference
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Optional seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Optional seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder Optional seasoning; adjust for spiciness
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Optional seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs Optional seasoning; customize as desired
  • Black pepper to taste Add as desired

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Rinse red lentils thoroughly under running water.
  2. Soak lentils in a bowl, covered with water, for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  3. Drain the soaked lentils and transfer them to a blender.
  4. Add salt and any optional seasonings such as garlic powder, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, dried herbs, and black pepper.
  5. Blend the mixture until it reaches a smooth consistency.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or an air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet or air fryer tray with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  3. Spread the lentil batter thinly and evenly across the lined tray using a spatula.
  4. Bake for 18–22 minutes or air fry for 10–14 minutes until the chips are firm and crisp.
  5. Cool the chips completely; they will become crispier as they cool.
  6. Break into pieces and season again if desired.

Notes

Store any leftover chips in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days. If chips lose their crispiness, reheat them in the oven for a few minutes.
