Preparation
- Rinse red lentils thoroughly under running water.
- Soak lentils in a bowl, covered with water, for at least 3 hours or overnight.
- Drain the soaked lentils and transfer them to a blender.
- Add salt and any optional seasonings such as garlic powder, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, dried herbs, and black pepper.
- Blend the mixture until it reaches a smooth consistency.
Cooking
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or an air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet or air fryer tray with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- Spread the lentil batter thinly and evenly across the lined tray using a spatula.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes or air fry for 10–14 minutes until the chips are firm and crisp.
- Cool the chips completely; they will become crispier as they cool.
- Break into pieces and season again if desired.
Notes
Store any leftover chips in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days. If chips lose their crispiness, reheat them in the oven for a few minutes.
