Cream Cheese Glaze Ingredients
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk To reach a drizzleable consistency

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your waffle iron to medium-high heat and lightly grease it if needed.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Cooking
  1. Spoon the batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until the waffles are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
  2. Transfer the waffles to a wire rack to keep them crisp while you repeat with the remaining batter.
Making the Cream Cheese Glaze

  2. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and enough milk to reach a drizzleable consistency.
Serving
  1. Drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the warm waffles and serve immediately.

Notes
