  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 small cabbage, shredded Fresh cabbage will provide the best texture.
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, with juice
  • 1 cup cooked rice Leftover rice works well.
Seasonings
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until they turn brown, about 7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes (with juice), cooked rice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir these ingredients well.
  4. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes to blend the flavors.
Baking
  1. Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
  2. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30-35 minutes until the cabbage becomes tender.
  3. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

You can customize the recipe by adding bell peppers or cheese. It can also be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
